Paul Weiner

Paul Weiner lives and works in Denver Colorado. His paintings, videos, and sculptural works grapple with America’s contemporary identity and history, generating abstracted, obscured, and distressed representations of a culture in turmoil. The artist repurposes traditional symbols of American exceptionalism, such as the flag, money, sports, folk history, and legal system to express violence, shame, and frustration. Often, he appropriates objects representative of these symbols and embed them within paintings and sculptures.

Katerina Fani

Katerina Fani's work is focusing on the skin as a sensory surface that cultivates experiences of embodiment and functions not as a border but as a link

that helps us experience the world and our self. The artist has been looking at Didier Anzieu’s psychoanalytical theory of “Skin Ego” where he

suggests that the Ego projects itself on the surface of the body. In general, this investigation had lead her to explore the perception of the

human body through the skin as the location of the tactile experiences. She has been looking at phenomenology and especially in Maurice

Merleau Ponty, who considers the human body as a form of consciousness, a subject and not simply an object that processes information

from the environment. This made her realize that she is interested in the interaction between the artwork and the viewer in order to activate

the senses and make her/him aware of her/his own body.
